Making an entrance at the National Gallery! An iconic institution in the art world, it’s always humbling to design flowers for this venue – especially for a showcase celebrating 200 years of art, culture and events!
The first look at the stairs of the gallery is a breathtaking sight, captivating guests as they ascend through the space. Up the stairs and onto the terrace, we created a design which repeated botanical refrains of grouped textures, shapes and soft colours. We mixed plants including grasses, ferns and ornamental trees with armfuls of cow parsley, angelica and viburnum, all combined to create an elegant juxtaposition. Masses of texture and movement, highlighted by candlelight and nuanced lighting by Light Motif.
