Monochromatic magic at Queen’s House

Wedding planner Chenai Bukutu came to us knowing she wanted to make a feature of the circular stone floor in the Great Hall of Queen’s House. For Katie and Donald’s ceremony, we created together a softly structured circle of flowers within which they would exchange marriage vows, and it was the perfect setting for their intimate guest count.

The brief was contemporary, stylish and monochromatic. For the ceremony, we grouped the flowers for a modern look with clusters of hydrangea, silky white delphinium and swathes of miscanthus grass and airy cosmos. For a subtle pop of cool toned putty pink, nerines and reflexed roses added the final touch.

For dining, we created an undulating, candlelit tablescape. With the styling for linens and crockery predominantly black, we designed a pared back and modern look, mixing ceramic bowls and bud vases with tapered and pillar candles. The designs had height and movement with tall, airy stems dancing alongside shorter, blousy flowers such as lacy hydrangea and velvety ruffled roses.
